Competition Robotics Teams
Adroit Robotics Club offers competitive robotics opportunities for students who are ready to design, build, program, and compete as part of a team.
Our FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team is for students in 4th–6th grade, and our FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team is for students in 7th–12th grade. Students gain hands-on experience, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and take on exciting engineering challenges throughout the season.
Practice times and competition schedules vary by team and season. Complete the request form below to learn about current openings, schedules, and next steps for joining a team.
Meet Our Teams: FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)
Our FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team takes on one of the biggest engineering challenges in youth robotics.
Each season begins with nothing more than a collection of motors, sensors, aluminum, gears, nuts, and bolts. From there, our students design, build, and program a competition robot from the ground up—without step-by-step instructions. Every year brings a brand-new game with unique challenges, requiring creative thinking, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving.
Throughout the season, our team competes in at least four competitions, facing off against some of the best teams in the area. Teams that perform well can advance to regional, state, national, and even world-level competitions.
We're incredibly proud of what our students have accomplished over the past three years:
• Advanced to Regionals in 2 of our 3 seasons (missed the 3rd year by 1 place)
• Design Award Winner (2-time recipient)
• 2nd Place Control Award
• 3rd Place Inspire Award
FTC is about much more than building robots. It's about developing future engineers, programmers, leaders, and innovators through teamwork, perseverance, and hands-on STEM learning.
Meet Our Teams: FIRST LEGO League (FLL Challenge)
Our FIRST LEGO League (FLL Challenge) team introduces students to engineering, programming, and teamwork through exciting, hands-on robotics challenges.
Each season begins with a standard LEGO® robotics kit. From there, our students design and build custom attachments to complete a series of mission-based tasks—without step-by-step instructions. They then program their robot to navigate the competition field and complete as many missions as possible. Every season features a brand-new theme and set of challenges, encouraging creativity, innovation, and problem-solving.
Our team competes in at least one official competition each year, where they showcase not only their robot's performance but also their teamwork, engineering design process, and innovative thinking. Teams that advance can continue on to higher levels of competition, including state, national, and even international events.
FLL is about much more than robots. Students learn to:
*Work as a team
*Think creatively
*Design and improve solutions
*Develop programming skills
*Build confidence through real-world challenges
Every season gives our students the opportunity to learn, grow, and discover that with determination and teamwork, they can accomplish amazing things.
